The Pelagus Method was designed for people at different points in their story, but all moving toward the same thing: a life that feels fully theirs.
Most people leaving treatment are told what not to do. Pelagus shows you what to move toward. Our programmes are built around the reality of recovery, the vulnerability, the restlessness, the need for structure that does not feel like a cage. Through adventure, therapeutic support, and genuine human connection, guests leave with more than sobriety. They leave with a reason to protect it.
Women arrive at Deerstone from different places. Some are stepping out of recovery. Some are rebuilding after a relationship, a career, or a version of themselves that no longer fits. Some simply haven’t had a moment to breathe in longer than they can remember.
What they share is this: they are ready for something different.
Deerstone offers a rare thing, time and space that is entirely yours. No roles to perform, no one else’s needs to manage, no noise to drown out your own voice. Through nature, movement, and genuine connection with other women, you will begin to hear yourself again.
The programme is built around you, where you are, what you need, and where you want to go. Whatever brought you here, you are welcome.
Recovery asks something particular from men, and rarely gives them the space to show it. Our Kilkenny programme is built for men who want rigorous, evidence-based recovery support delivered in an environment that respects both their privacy and the standard they hold in every other area of their life. Discreet, structured, and designed for people who are used to holding everything together, until they couldn’t.
Most recovery programmes treat the person. The Pelagus Method treats the person and the conditions they’re returning to. Research shows the post-treatment environment is the primary predictor of relapse, not the quality of treatment itself. Six interlocking pillars, each designed to reinforce the others, and each grounded in an evidence base our clinical team can speak to directly.
Every guest leaves with a personalised Recovery Map, a concrete, written document built across the programme covering your triggers, your coping strategies, your support architecture, and a 90-day plan. Shared with your peer group at the final dinner and witnessed. It goes home with you. The work continues from there.
Our team brings together highly qualified professionals from clinical, therapeutic, and outdoor-leadership backgrounds. Every programme is designed with safety, expertise, and long-term resilience in mind. You’re supported by people who understand addiction, understand nature, and understand the courage it takes to begin again.
Pelagus is intentionally small, private, and tailored. We work with individuals who want a premium, immersive experience that respects their privacy and honours their commitment to change. Whether you join us in Ireland or at one of our European locations, you’ll find a space that feels both grounded and elevated, a place to reset, rebuild, and return to yourself.
Recovery is not a single moment. It’s a series of choices, supported by the right environment and the right people. Pelagus offers a structured yet liberating path that strengthens resilience, deepens self-awareness, and equips you with the tools to stay well long after you leave.
